In retrospect, the label’s output seems unified by PEACEFUL and POWERFUL feelings - kaleidoscopic, yet woven with cohesive aesthetics from a heavily intertwined community of contributors. The record is a testament to this communalist approach, featuring subtle intersections crafted by some of Canada’s most innovative artists. Halocline Trance reflects the openness and spirit of hybridity that animates the most exciting corners of Toronto’s creative music community, with contributors ranging from multimedia artist Xuan Ye, to Hindustani classical vocalist Anuja Panditrao to free jazz savant Colin Fisher.
